Green list – Straight to residence and work to residence pathways

If you are highly skilled and your occupation is included in the green list, you may be eligible for residence. There are two tiers – Tier 1 and Tier 2 .

Straight to residence- Tier 1.

If your occupation falls under this list, ( construction project managers, project builders, quantity surveyors, engineers, engineering technicians, information technology professionals, medical professionals, food technologists etc) and if you have a job offer from an accredited employer and you meet the qualification/registration/work experience requirement for the occupation, you could apply for residence straight away.

Work to residence – Tier 2

If your occupation is in this list (registered nurses, midwifes, secondary and early childhood teachers, medical technicians, plumbers, electricians, diesel motor mechanic occupations included in this list) and if you have been working for a New Zealand accredited employer for at least 2 years, you could apply for residence. Your must meet qualification/registration/work experience requirements specified in the list.
